Manoa and Special Issues

From time to time the center and its staff engage in the production of special issues or features within existing journals. These have included a special broadside issue of the Joiner Newsletter on Women's writing from the Vietnam War, a special supplement to the Boston Review on Writing from Vietnam; special feature issues of Manoa on 'New Writing fromVietnam' or ' Two Rivers: New Writing from Vietnam and the Diaspora.' Often these features lead to later book publications as was the case with the issue on women's writing which led to Linda VanDevanter and Joan Furey's Visions of War, Dreams of Peace, and the Boston Review supplement and Manoa issue which led to Mountain River. Currently in progress is a special issue of the Irish journal Cyphers, featuring writing from Vietnam and the Diaspora.
