Newsletters
From its modest beginnings, the Joiner
Center newsletter has evolved into a publication which often features original
work on important issues. In March 2002 the 40-page issue addressed the
war in Afghanistan and the constellation of concerns surrounding it with
a chronology of the entire region.
In the fall 2001 issue Joiner Center Director Kevin Bowen reflected on the
harsh reality and consequences of Sept. 11th, and psychology Professor Ester
Shapiro shared her work on grief and suffering. The newsletter has also
featured Vietnamese, Irish, African-American and Hispanic poets and work
on women veterans as well as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Gulf War
Syndrome.
The programmatic of the Joiner Center appear in the newsletter as well,
and a lively format makes it interesting and enjoyable to read.
