Publications
The Joiner Center has initiated a number
of publication projects both in-house and in cooperation with established
presses. The Joiner Center Newsletter, the center's primary outlet is published
twice yearly and contains recent news on the center's activities as well
as guest essays and editorial pieces. Occasionally, as with the recent issue,
"Seeing Afghanistan and Beyond," Newsletter Issues may be devoted
to special topics. The center also publishes occasional reports and conference
proceedings as with "Agent Orange: Scientific, Medical, and Political
Aspects; "Women and War: A Symposium" and "From a Troubled
Past to an Uncertain Future: Vietnam Veterans, a Community at Risk, the
Five Year Follow Up Study on the Staus of Vietnam Veterans in the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts."
Over the years the center has entered into projects with the University
of Massachusetts Press, Curbstone Press, Manoa, Yale University's
Vietnam Forum and other journals aimed at bringing from Vietnam,
the U.S. and other countries on the subject of war and its consequences
to larger audiences and making them available for classroom use. Currently
in progress are The Women on an Express Train: Selected Stories of Nguyen
Minh Chau, bilingual editions of Vietnamese poets Lam thi My Da and
Y Nghi and a special issue of the Irish literary journal, Cyphers.
