The William Joiner Foundation, in partnership with the William Joiner Foundation for the Study of War and Social Consequences, works to educate people to and alleviate the effects of war and to promote healing and reconciliation. Established in 1988, the Foundation accomplishes this through education, research, advocacy, outreach, and support of a number of diverse initiatives. As a means of providing direct assistance to those whose lives have been affected by war, the William Joiner Foundation has undertaken educational and medical initiatives in Vietnam and has supported expressive statements of war, conflict, oppression, and political violence in this country through sponsorship of literary programs, art exhibits and author exchanges.
